We realize the importance of the environment and social sustainability for this project. As such, this project will implement Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability issued by the International Finance Corporation. Based on this standard, the project development will pay close attention to and protect the livelihood of the surrounding communities.
This project also contributes in improving the economy of the people of Banten province, as well as local inhabitants of Suralaya and Lebakgede. We believe that improving the quality of the environment, social, and economies of the surrounding area will lead to a positive impact for the community. The people around the area will be involved in the development of the project. New job creation for local inhabitants, improvement in the local economy due to new facilities being added, and the stability of the national economy, are the targets we aim to achieve.
PLTU Jawa Unit 9 & 10 project is currently in construction, and will be built using the latest and most efficient Ultra Super Critical (USC) technology, and proven environmental protection equipment from OECD countries.
